The NIU holds a new Demo Day to link investors and innovative start-ups

The third celebration of the NIU Demo Day, a forum that brings together innovative projects and investors, is already warming up. The event, organised by the Andorra Telecom business incubator, will be held on 21 October in the events hall at Caldea and a total of six innovative projects will be presented with technology as the main theme.

The NIU brings to the table four of its projects that "are already sufficiently mature and sufficiently well-defined to go to market and to seek financing", as pointed out by the head of the Andorra Telecom incubator, Miquel Gouarré.

The four start-ups will present their projects in very diverse fields: an application that develops customised training plans, management software oriented towards the financial and insurance sector, a tool for the industrial sector developed with blockchain and a tool to support stores with online sales platforms.

It should be remembered that the NIU fulfils a double purpose. It supports the projects at the beginning of their journey through the incubation programme, and provides accelerated support in the final phases. One of the axes of action is support in the search for capital to move start-ups forward. "Capital is decisive, a key factor. Without adequate financing, even the brightest ideas are bound to fail”, says Gouarré.

The other two initiatives that will go to the Demo day are external projects that are currently in the selection phase. From the outset, we haven’t wanted to restrict participation solely to NIU projects; investors will be present in order to present other interesting ideas that complement our offer".

The NIU has already begun to contact professionals specialised in financing from banks, family offices, venture capital funds and business angels. The organisers, who have highlighted the warm reception of the Day, expect about forty investors to be present.

The Demo Day will also be an opportunity to learn about the development of the Paymeter payment tool, an application that emerged from the NIU through its promotor, entrepreneur David Tiago.
